Word reaching the Siya crew is that Kaizer Chiefs have decided against pursuing a move for Aaron Mokoena.
The crew reported in today’s issue of Soccer-Laduma that there had been discussions within the club regarding the possibility of signing the 32-year-old on a short-term deal as backup to their first team.
Chiefs have previously denied the link in the media, saying that there was no interest in landing the player, although the crew were informed otherwise.
However, despite the fact that discussions did take place, sources have explained that the move is now unlikely to happen with the Amakhosi’s management not keen on adding him to their ranks at present.

Head coach Stuart Baxter and Mbazo had a good working relationship when they worked together during Baxter’s spell with Bafana Bafana, although it seems that a decision has been made that the Glamour Boys will not be signing him.
Meanwhile, Chiefs are also waiting on the arrival of Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenya, who is a free agent after leaving SC Erbil, although it remains to be seen when or if he will turn up.
