The PSL offices in Parktown Johannesburg were once more the place to be as the Nedbank draw for the semi-final stages of the cup tournament were conducted.
Kaizer Chiefs drew Wits in what should be a second versus third in the Nedbank Cup semi-final clash. The fact that both Chiefs and Wits who currently hold second and third positions on the league table, and are in the league title race, will give an added enticement to the semi-final showdown.
Speaking to the media at the draw, Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Stuart Baxter, quickly denounced any suggestions that this was an easy draw for the Soweto giants.
“To say we are happy to be drawn against Wits is disrespectful, it is just a different challenge” said Baxter.
“We want to defend the league and cup double" added the Chiefs coach, as he highlighted the club's ambitions for the season.
Baxter concluded by saying that his team are ready for the challenge and they will prepare accordingly.
“We will do our best to be competitive in all competitions.”
Dates and venues are still to be confirmed.
