Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to extend their club record of nine consecutive wins-in-a-row when they take on SuperSport United on Wednesday evening. The Glamour Boys have currently recorded eight consecutive wins, with five of these coming away from home.
A win against United could see the defending champions extend their lead at the top of the standings to 13 points. Second- placed Matsatsantsa will no doubt eye this encounter as a must-win affair if they hope to stay in the league race. SuperSport have started the second half of their campaign in a positive fashion after picking up six points from a possible nine.
This means Wednesday's clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium could be a crucial clash in terms of the overall PSL league race. Nonetheless, Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, is optimistic the club can do the business against SuperSport.
He told the club's official website, “With the game squeezed and coming thick and fast, we will determine our readiness until the last minutes of our preparations. We will give SuperSport United the respect they deserve on the field of play. More so, they beat us in the first round of the league. There will also be added motivation of both teams needing the three points."
The action gets underway from 19h30 in Polokwane.
