The camp of the former South African Football Association Vice-President Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana remains undeterred despite the postponement of his unfair dismissal case this past Friday.
Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma Chief Nonkonyana’s campaign manager Sisa Majola said that nothing will stop the Chief’s nomination for the SAFA presidential elections scheduled for the 24th of March. The nominations deadlines are set for the 25th of February 2018.
“This is a major national issue as highlighted by the judge,” Majola told the crew. This has been an ongoing case for the past four years,” he added.

“Our campaign continues to go on despite these setbacks. We just want the case to be over so people can know the truth and have closure. People also need to understand that Chief Mwelo did not just decide to run for the SAFA Presidency seat. He was backed by some of the SAFA regions who were not happy with SAFA’s current structures.
“We cannot reveal which of the regions but Chief’s Nonknoyana’s campaign is authentic and we will continue our campaign despite these setbacks and delays," concluded Majola.
Following Friday’s postponement, SAFA has been declared to pay fifty percent of the legal fees associated with the case as they reportedly requested that the case be postponed.
