Following Clinton Larsen’s resignation earlier today, Bloemfontein Celtic are undecided on his successor.
The club has had an unconvincing start to the 2013/14 PSL season, bombing out in the first round of the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout, and lying 11th on the log after six rounds of league action.
There was speculation that Larsen had been pushed out after the string of poor results, however, according to a high-ranking Siya source within the Celtic camp, this is not the case.
“The coach thought it was time to quit and although management tried to convince him to change his mind, he wouldn’t budge,” explained the source.
The club has instructed Boebie Solomons to take over as interim coach. According to the source, there is no candidate for the head coaching job at this time but the club is weighing up its options.
“If the club can’t find a suitable candidate locally they may even look abroad, but for the time being, the head coaching position is vacant," concluded the source.
