Reports doing the rounds are that Bloemfontein Celtic are set to end their partnership with Old Mutual as from next season.
The savings and investments company has been the official financial solutions partner to Celtic for many years now, with the partnership culminating in the hugely popular preseason tournament, the Old Mutual Mangaung Cup. But recent media reports are that Siwelele will link up with funeral parlour, Batho Batsho Bakopane Group, also known as BBB Group, and that a three-year deal between the club and the company has been mooted.
It is said that the company will inject R15 million over a period of three years as a sleeve sponsor of Celtic. A source in the Celtic camp says the club does not want to make a noise about the imminent deal and that an announcement will likely be made before the start of next season.
When contacted for comment, the club’s technical director said, “I’m not the right person to speak to about that. Speak to the CEO, Khumbulani Konco. I don’t know the details, so I can’t really help.” However, Konco could not be reached at the time of writing.
