Bloemfontein Celtic central midfielder, Keagan Buchanan, will be going for a scan on his injured knee today.
The 23-year-old player had to go off the pitch after 30 minutes of the Nedbank Cup tie against Wits on Sunday afternoon. This put Celtic on the back foot, with Alfred Ndengane sent off 10 minutes later. Buchanan has been a key part of Ernst Middendorp’s side since joining at the beginning of the season, and will be hoping to recover and make a swift comeback.
The club has confirmed on their official website that he will go for a scan with the orthopaedic surgeon on Monday, only then will the extent of his injury be determined.
Buchanan told the Siya crew, “I’m a bit disappointed because I couldn’t finish the game due to the injury. I believe I could have offered the team more options, but injuries are part of the game and I’ll have to wait and see.”
Phunya Sele Sele are visiting Golden Arrows in their next league encounter on Wednesday, and will be out for victory after tasting defeat in their last two games.
