Nyadombo Handed Zim Captaincy
Ian Gorowa has handed AmaZulu defender, Carlington Nyadombo, the Zimbabwe national team captaincy.
Nyadombo takes over the armband from Wits midfielder, Denver Mukamba, who had been appointed to that role by Gorowa’s German predecessor, Klaus-Dieter Pagels.
The Usuthu hardman led the Warriors when they defeated Malawi 4-1 in an international friendly match in March as stand-in skipper, but is now the substantive captain. He will be deputised by Zimbabwe champions Dynamos defender, Partson Jaure.
“Carlington is now captain of the full national team, and his vice is Partson who is captain of the local guys,” said Gorowa.
Nyadombo is however out of Sunday’s Afcon qualifier first round, second leg at home against Tanzania due to injury.
PSL players in the Zimbabwe team are Pretoria University goalkeeper, Washington Arubi, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Cuthbert Malajila, Kaizer Chiefs' Willard Katsande and Mpumalanga Black Aces target man, Tendai Ndoro.
