Carling Black Label Player Profile

With the 2013 edition of the Carling Black Label Cup just around the corner, Soccer-Laduma takes a closer look at the players you can vote for to represent your team in the competition.

Everyday leading up to the big game on 27 July, Soccer-Laduma will be profiling one Orlando Pirates player and one Kaizer Chiefs player daily, with career backgrounds on display so you can make your voting choice.

Check the voting on your favourite teams on the Carling Black Label website here!

Soccer-Laduma will also be running user polls to gauge the popularity of the players profiled.

Orlando Pirtes profile:

Name: Takesure Chinyama

D.O.B: 30/09/82

Team: Orlando Pirates

CBL last Year: N/A

2012/2013 PSL Stats: Played 7, Scored 3

Takesure Chinyama could get his first start in the Carling Black Label Cup against Kaizer Chiefs on July 27. The Zimbabwean didn’t play in last year’s competition after signing with the club in July 2012.

Despite playing fewer games than expected in his first season with the club, Chinyama could be the second striker in the starting 11 for Bucs against the Amakhosi at FNB Stadium.

With Benni McCarthy no longer in the running for a starting berth for Pirates after the announcement of his retirement from the game, Chinyama is expected to get more votes for a chance to be in the team this year.

Pirates fans still remember the bulky striker for the five goals he scored against Djabal in the CAF Champions League. Chinyama scored four goals in the first leg at Orlando Stadium, and another in the second leg as Bucs went on to beat the club from the Comoros 9-0 on aggregate.
