Cape Town City have finally added a new goalkeeper to their books after securing the services of one of Ajax Amsterdam’s goalkeepers.
The club has confirmed the signature of Peter Leeuwenburgh who comes from the Ajax Amsterdam U21 setup.
It has been reported over the past months that City are keen on finding another goalkeeper who will compete with Sage Stephens for the number one spot.
City recently parted ways with Shuaib Walters, who has been on their books since the club’s inaugural season.
However, Walters has since found a new home with their neighbours Ajax Cape Town, after the Citizens opted against extending his stay.
City have in the past been linked with the likes of Brilliant Khuzwayo and Brighton Mhlongo, prior to the duo putting pen to paper with Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits respectively.
It was reported earlier this month that City were also set to miss out on the services of European goalkeeper, Emil Velic, however, have since acted quickly to bring in a goalkeeper from Amsterdam.
