An important update has been provided on a Bafana Bafana goalkeeper who has been yet to play for his club this season due to injury.
After being signed by Cape Town City in July as a replacement for Dutch goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh who returned home to play for FC Groningen in the Eredivisie, Darren Keet was ruled out for six months without having made his debut yet for the Mother City outfit.

The Citizens were forced to find another keeper to provide cover, which led to the club signing Angolan international Hugo Marques, while former Maritzburg United shot-stopper Bongani Mpandle and Marc Anderson are also in the mix to add to coach Eric Tinkler’s selection options.

News coming out of the Cape side is that Keet has recovered and given the green light to start training with the team.
“Our medical team has given Darren Keet the green light to resume light training with the first team. Keep on pushing DK!” confirmed City on the club’s official Twitter account.
