City Turn Down Sundowns Bid, Ngoma Going Nowhere
Cape Town City Have Turned Down A Mamelodi Sundowns Offer
Cape Town City turned down a deadline day bid from Mamelodi Sundowns for Lebogang Manyama and Aubrey Ngoma, with the latter set to remain at the club.
The Siya crew reported earlier today that Manyama’s move to Turkish club, Konyaspor, could be on the cards after a deal was agreed in principle - a deal that has now been finalised and confirmed - and that Masandawana were still eager to try and land Ngoma before the window closed.
It now appears that Pitso Mosimane will not be getting either player on board today, with John Comitis confirming to the crew that he has turned down an offer for both players from Chloorkop.
He said, “We had an offer from Sundowns but it wasn’t enough. We’ve decided that we don’t want to lose Aubrey now, we want him to get back playing and back to his best and then maybe we can look at something next season.”
Ngoma is currently recovering from a knee injury that saw him ruled out for the start of the season, although he is hoping to be back in action at some point in October.
City have been prudent in the current window having snapped up the likes of Ayanda Patosi, Teko Modise and Lyle Lakay, with Benni McCarthy’s side having won all four of their opening games.
