As reported in the past by the Siya crew, City are showing keen interest in the services of Tokelo Rantie, with sources now revealing that talks to bring the player on board have intensified.
However, it has since been established that the Mother City-based club are under no pressure to sign the player before the transfer window closes shut at midnight today, January 31.
It is believed that the 27-year-old has been released from his contract with Turkish-side, Genclerbirligi, after having just six months left on his contract, though it is yet to be confirmed by the club in Europe.
According to sources at the Citizens, Head Coach Benni McCarthy is keen on adding the player to his books, with the 40-year-old believed to have a good relationship with Rantie, stemming back to their time together at Orlando Pirates.
Now, with talks and negotiations between the two parties still underway, it remains to be seen when the club will conclude a deal for the striker.
