Mamelodi Sundowns instilled hope in the fans who believe that they could finally win the league after a long drought, due to their impressive start to the Absa Premiership in the 2013/14 season.
The Brazilians are currently sitting second on the table, five points behind champions Kaizer Chiefs, with a game in hand. The club’s new signings have been impressive for Pitso Mosimane’s side, and are arguably the main reason the team has done fairly well so far this season.
The team will need to be consistent though in the 17 games left for them this season to try and bring smiles back to the faces of their passionate fans. Star players like Khama Billiat, Bongani Zungu and Cuthbert Malajila will need to be at their best to assist Mosimane in his ambition to win the league with Sundowns.
The team has crucial games against the likes of Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town in their first few weeks of the second round. Sundowns lost just two times in their opening 13 games this season, sending a clear message about the team’s intentions for the remainder of the campaign.
