City have beaten Chiefs just twice in the league, and out of their nine meetings in total in all competitions since the 2016/17 season, Amakhosi have been the dominant side by winning five, drawing once and losing thrice.
The Soweto side already scooped three points in the Mother City in the Absa Premiership campaign this season and will now have to travel back to the Western Cape this weekend.
The two sides will lock horns with Chiefs in the last 16 of the Telkom Knockout Cup competition, with the Citizens raring to go to yet another final after an early exit in the MTN8 competition.
In comparison, City have reached more cup finals than Chiefs in the past three seasons, having won two trophies since their inaugural campaign in 2016 – all this while the Soweto side are eagerly looking to put an end to their four-year long trophy drought.
But can McCarthy’s side get back to winning ways and end Chiefs’ dreams of yet another trophy this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.
