Despite the fact that interest in Buhle Mkhawanazi is continuing to grow as the race for his signature hots up, his representatives insist that he’s happy where he is.
The University of Pretoria defender has been in fantastic form for his club over the last two seasons and has now attracted interest from the likes of Wits and Orlando Pirates in South Africa, as well as a bit from overseas.
However, Paul Mitchell, the managing director of Siyavuma Sports Group, the agency that looks after the player, says that Mkhwanazi is happy to stay at Tuks, especially given the fact that he’s had the captain’s armband bestowed upon him.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Mitchell said, “There has obviously been a lot of interest in Buhle over the last few months, but at the end of the day he’s happy to be captain of Tuks. Interested parties have and will continue to be diverted to Tuks and if any concrete offer is made then the club will then inform us.
“Contrary to some media reports, we have consistently said that any interested party must first go to Tuks, as he’s still happy at the club.”
We could well see the Bafana Bafana international make a move at some point in the coming transfer window, though it seems that he wouldn’t be too disappointed if a big moved didn’t come around for him this time.
