Orlando Pirates have welcomed Byron Madzokere to their training grounds, as the defender looks to land himself a deal with the defending PSL champions.
The Zimbabwean has joined fellow countryman Ronald Chitiyo at the club, as they train under the watchful eye of coach Roger de Sa and his technical team. A reliable source within the Bucs camp confirmed that the duo are training with the rest of the team.
“The two guys from Zimbabwe are training with us. One guy is more like a winger while the other plays in defence. The defender looks impressive. He is doing well so far, although I would like to see him against tougher opposition,” said the source.
Madzokere has been in search of a move to the PSL, having tried his luck at both SuperSport United and Chippa United in the past.
He was expected to sign with the Chilli Boys, however after the proposed deal fell through, he returned to Gunners FC.
Bucs are in the lookout for players with experience of playing against tough African opponents. The team is preparing for the 2013 CAF Champions League, where they will be facing Club Djabal from Comoros, in the preliminary round.
