Chiefs’ Shot-Stopper Back In Training As Quartet Return
Brilliant Khuzwayo Was Back In Training For Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Brilliant Khuzwayo, seems to have shrugged off an ankle injury from last week and is now back in full training.
The Siya crew reported this morning that the 28-year-old could be a doubt for the Nedbank Cup quarter-final this weekend after missing all of last week with a niggle.
Chiefs’ players were given Monday off given that they don’t have a midweek game, but Siya sources have explained that Khuzwayo was back in training when they returned today, news that will be welcomed by the club’s head coach, Steve Komphela.
The shot-stopper has only made eight Absa Premiership appearances over the last three seasons and is seen as their number two goalkeeper.
Komphela also welcomed back the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Daniel Cardoso and Ryan Moon from international duty ahead of this weekend’s quarter-final with Baroka FC.
Chiefs have taken their clash with Bakgaga to Port Elizabeth as they take aim at a spot in the semi-finals, and it looks as though they will have a full squad – other than the long-term injury to Kabelo Mahlasela – available for selection.
