Motaung Confirms Khuzwayo Exit, Explains Why…
Brilliant Khuzwayo Is Leaving Kaizer Chiefs
Bobby Motaung has explained why Brilliant Khuzwayo is leaving Kaizer Chiefs, adding that the goalkeeper isn’t getting any younger as he makes his Amakhosi exit.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper has been with Chiefs since 2012 but has made just 27 league appearances for the Glamour Boys as he played second fiddle to the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Reyaad Pieterse.
Khuzwayo did get chance to have a proper farewell over the weekend as he helped Chiefs secure a CAF Confederation Cup spot with a 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town, confirmed after the game that he was on the move.
Now, with the transfer window around the corner and Khuzwayo’s current contract set to expire, Chiefs’ football manager has given an explanation for the player’s decision.
He told the club’s official website, “Brilliant Khuzwayo approached the club asking for a blessing to move to another club at the end of the current season. The main reason for his departure is for an opportunity play more games because he is not getting any younger.
“Brilliant gave us his all and we’ve given him our support throughout his stay with us. When a player has been good to the club and asks to spread his wings, we have to respect his wish.”
Several clubs have been linked with Khuzwayo in recent weeks, with Orlando Pirates believed to be one of the main contenders for his signature.
