Bantu Mzwakali has returned to Mzansi following a brief stint in the Swedish second tier to join the Dube Birds!
The 27-year-old former Bidvest Wits attacking midfielder joined IK Brage in January last year and was a regular for the club – he featured 28 matches overall from when he joined them, but it appears he only made one appearance this season.
He’d only signed a 12 months contract.
Swallows were closing in on another free agent in Keagan Buchanan just two weeks ago, but the deal collapsed with the two parties unable to agree terms.
On Tuesday the Dube Birds confirmed the signing of Mzwakali, but did not confirm the length of the deal.
“I hope to use the experience that I gained in Europe with Brage to help the beautiful Birds finish in a respectable position,” the player said in his first words on the club’s Twitter page.
As a free agent, and provided he was given his clearance during the most recent transfer window, he was able to join a club of his choice.
