Chippa United have allowed Masonwabe Bovu to travel to KwaZulu-Natal where he will be assessed by Golden Arrows.
“China”, as Bovu is affectionally known in football circles, has struggled for game time at the Chilli Boys this season.
The player’s only two starts for the Cape Town-based side this season came under Manqoba Mngqithi, in the two games the Arrows coach lasted with the Siviwe Mpengesi-owned side.
Chippa’s media officer Lukanyo Mzinzi confirmed that the player is already in KZN with Abafana Bes’thende, while negotiations between the two sides are ongoing.
“We are still discussing with them. Coach Manqoba has always been a fan of the player. He has been enquiring about him for a long time now. I think it will be a possible loan deal. We are still in negotiations with them,” said Mzinzi.
Bovu is keen on a move to Durban, with the aim of getting regular game under Mngqithi at Arrows.
