The Siya crew can reveal that former Santos coach, Major David Bright, could be set for a move back to the People’s Team.
The veteran Botswana mentor has been on the books of Gaborone United, but has been at loggerheads with the club in recent times, leading to his suspension, before he eventually left. It seems that the 57-year-old coach is ready for a return to South Africa, with Santos being his likely destination.
According to Siya sources, Bright landed in Cape Town on Saturday evening, and is in negotiations with Santos boss, Goolam Allie, about the possibility of taking over the coaching duties. Santos have slipped down to seventh place in the National First Division league standings, and are hoping that the arrival of Bright will yield positive results
The Cape side is currently being coached by David Notoane, and it is not yet clear what role he will play if Bright does eventually clinch a deal with the club. But indications are that, since he knows the culture of the club inside and out, he will assist Bright.
