Captainless Stars v Captainless SuperSport
Both Free State Stars & SuperSport United Have Their Captains Suspended
Both Free State Stars and SuperSport United go into Wednesday night’s clash without their captains as Paulus Mashehe and Dean Furman are forced to sit out the game due to suspension.
Masehe was given his fourth yellow card of the season when Stars lost 3-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic in the Free State Derby over the weekend, meaning that he faces a one-match ban as the side closes out 2017. He missed two games earlier in the season following a red card though.
Meanwhile, Furman is also serving his second suspension of the season following his red card against Tshwane rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns, back in August.
It was Morgan Gould that donned the captain’s armband in Furman’s absence when he missed the clash with Kaizer Chiefs earlier this year, while Nhlanhla Vilakazi deputised for Ea Lla Koto when Masehe wasn’t present.
The two teams lock horns on Wednesday evening at 19h30, with Stars looking to go joint second and SuperSport aiming for the seventh spot.
