Platinum Stars striker Henrico Botes will miss out on the opportunity to face Dikwena teammate, Robert Ng’ambi, when their respective national teams face each other in their upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Namibia, Bote’s national outfit, is preparing to make the trip to Malawi, where they will be hosted by The Flames. The game is scheduled to be played in Blantyre on June 5.
Botes has not fully recovered from the knee injury he picked up during Stars’ 3-2 loss to SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup on May 08. As a result, Namibia coach Roger Palmgren has been forced to leave the player out of his travelling squad.
South African-based Ephraim Tjihonge (Milano United), Virgil Vries (Maritzburg United), Willem Mwedihanga (AmaZulu), Petrus Shitembi (University of Pretoria) and AmaZulu-bound Sydney Urikhob have all been included in Palmgren’s squad.
Ng’ambi is expected to play an important role for Malawi when the two sides clash, following his impressive performances for Stars this past season.
