Ajax Cape Town defender, Mario Booysen says that he feels like his side are on the right track despite obtaining a draw in their previous encounter.
The Urban Warriors ended off their Absa Premiership encounter with a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu FC at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday. Speaking to the media, Booysen thinks that his side have been progressing with their performance but just need to start doing the little things properly.
“I think, if you look at overall, all these games that we’ve played, it’s not goals that the team worked for, its soft goals. We take it and we learn from it but we don’t have to look too much into it, there is still a lot to play for and what is good about football, there’s always another opportunity to make it right on Wednesday, even if it’s away,” the centre-back said.
“I feel that we have enough quality and based on the performance on Saturday, we were the better team but I think we just have to stop conceding goals. So, we just have to build on that second half performance and move on.
“I feel that we are on the right track because if you look at the performance at the end of the day, I think that the team is doing well. Like you said now, I think it is a lack of concentration from everyone. It is the small things in our game that we have to sort out because the things that we have to do, we are doing it well but the small other things like communicating and organizing quicker, it will also help us to grow in to a better team but so far I think we have been doing well and especially coming from a three week break it is not easy, you feel a bit rusty and you try to get in to it as soon as possible,” he added.
