Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu will have the cast on his leg removed next month as he continues his recovery from injury.
Zungu, who will join Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes at the end of the season, has not featured for the Brazilians since sustaining a serious injury against Maritzburg United in January. However, he is recovering well.
According to Siya sources, the 23-year-old will have the cast on his right shin removed next week, and he will then begin his rehabilitation as he looks to get back to full fitness before the campaign comes to an end.
At present, it remains to be seen whether or not Zungu – who was in blistering form before his injury – will be able to feature for Masandawana again before departing for Europe, but he will be confident of doing so.
Zungu will be eager to get at least a few matches under his belt for Sundowns as they chase the Absa Premiership title so that he doesn't arrive in Portugal for pre-season without any match sharpness.
