Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu admits his side are happy to pick up the win after a tough Absa Premiership match against AmaZulu on Tuesday night.
In a tight match a single goal from Cuthbert Malajila in the second half handed the Brazilians the 1-0 win.
Zungu was awarded the ‘man of the match’ for his defensive midfield role in front of the defenders which helped keep AmaZulu at bay.
Speaking after the match Zungu admitted it was a tough game and they were happy to win.
“They (AmaZulu) approached us with a very different pattern,” said Zungu.
“We knew they were going to come with two strikers.
“Bongi Ntuli will be on Alje (Schut) and Bongani Ndulula on Ramahlwe (Mphahlele), so I had to play a big role just in front of our defence.
“We are very happy for the win.
“The coach told me I should play as well, that I shouldn’t mark the whole game and I tried, but we worked as a team and we are very happy for the three points.”
