Motaung Defends Chiefs, Thinks They Can Challenge For The Title
Bobby Motaung Thinks Kaizer Chiefs Can Win The League
Bobby Motaung thinks that Kaizer Chiefs can challenge for the Absa Premiership title after bringing in eight new players for the 2017/18 season – four new signings, and four development players.
The Amakhosi have come under scrutiny from their fan base at the lack of new signings for the new season after last night’s transfer window slammed shut without them landing a marquee signing, but Motaung believes that all is well at Naturena.
Speaking in a press release today, the Chiefs team manager said that Teenage Hadebe, Bhongolethu Jayiya, Dumisani Zuma and Philani Zulu will bolster the team nicely and that Bruce Bvuma, Khotso Malope, Wiseman Meyiwa and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will ‘inject new energy’ at the club.
He explained, “The arrival of Dumsani Zuma from Bloemfontein Celtic, Philani Zulu from Maritzburg United, Teenage Hadebe from Zimbabwean team Chicken Inn FC and Bhongolethu Jayiya from Cape Town City FC will surely help bolster the team’s backline, midfield and attack.
“We also announced the promotion of four players from the development ranks to join the first team for the 2017/18 campaign. Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma and three midfielders Khotso Malope, Wiseman Meyiwa and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are the four players who have been officially been promoted to the senior team.
“The young men will add youthfulness, inject new energy and quality to the wealth of talent already in the squad because we need to ensure that the team is strong enough to challenge for the league title as well as the two trophies that we will be competing for this season.”
