The Bloemfontein Celtic management held a Supporters General Meeting on Sunday at Kagisho Secondary School Hall, where the technical team and legends were also in attendance.
The club had scheduled the meeting to share their vision and pay attention to grievances from their supporters. Phunya Sele Sele’s new chairman, Max Tshabalala got an opportunity to interact with their fans and went on to say that he would like to see the team making a name for itself in African club competitions.
“I want to make sure we compete fiercely as a team; stop selling our best players and instead compete by purchasing sheer quality players in our endeavor to win not only trophies but eventually compete in the CAF Club Competitions”, he told Celtic’s official website.
Celtic’s Life-Time President Ntate Petrus Molemela, who was also in attendance, has reportedly mandated Max Tshabalala not only to run the team but adhere to the principle of respecting Celtic supporters wholeheartedly. “The team has been taken back to the masses, the euphoria and passion Celtic is known of will return, we must support the team and continue to protect our culture”, he said.
The club’s supporters responded positively to Tshabalala’s vision statements and response towards their questions about the media speculation regarding the club. Tshabalala also handed out Celtic replicas to the legends on the day, personalised with names and numbers that they used during their playing days.
