Confirmed: Jesulic Issues Statement On Celtic Exit
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Bloemfontein Celtic and their head coach, Veselin Jelusic, have parted ways, with the news now being confirmed by the coach himself.
The crew reported last week that Jesulic had handed in his resignation at Siwelele after guiding them to a very respectable 11th-place finish, with the club in a difficult situation at present amid talks of a sale and move to Kimberley.
Those talks led to riots and forced them to hold a meeting to discuss the situation with their fans, and there is still an air of uncertainty around the club and questions being asked regarding where they will be for the 2018/19 campaign.
Now, despite some denials from the club, a statement from the Serbian coach reads, “The employment agreement between Bloemfontein Celtic and myself has been terminated for the reason known to the club. Herewith I use this opportunity to thank the club, the players, technical team, management, sponsors and especially the supporters for the time that I have spent with them. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
It remains to be seen whether Jelusic will look to secure another job in South Africa or look elsewhere in the world, however, he will leave Siwelele in the knowledge that he did help them improve from relegation battlers to a team that almost clinched a top eight spot.
