Bloemfontein Celtic say that the club has appointed a reputable coach with immense pedigree in Steve Komphela.
It was earlier reported by the Siya crew that Celtic’s chairman, Max Tshabalala confirmed the appointment of Komphela as the team’s head coach. The former Kaizer Chiefs coach replaces Veselin Jelusic, who has resigned from his position as the team’s coach.
Siwelele have since taken to the club’s official website to give the reasons on the appointment of Komphela.
“Bloemfontein Celtic is proud to announce the arrival of Steve Komphela after the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor penned a two-year deal with (an) additional one-year option with the Mangaung based outfit,” confirmed Celtic on the club’s website.
Chairman Max Tshabalala told the club’s website, “Our strategy was to get a reputable local coach with immense pedigree who can take us to greater heights and in Steve we found an appropriate candidate.
“Last season was complicated and we failed to achieve our goals, however, we have now acquired the services of someone passionate, hungry for success and willing to bring the excitement synonymous with Celtic supporters. He has the judgment, knowledge and experience. He promotes the youth and has an exceptional eye for raw talent and that is exactly what we need as a team.
“We are relying heavily on the support of our forever supportive fans to rally behind the coach and his team.”
