Bloemfontein Celtic head coach Veselin Jelusic felt Lorenzo Gordinho's red card affected their game plan against Orlando Pirates.

Celtic were level at 1-1 when Gordinho, who netted the visitors' equaliser, was sent off for a professional foul on Thamsanqa Gabuza.

The Free State outfit went on to lose 2-1 but Jelusic was proud of his side's display at Orlando Stadium.

“I’m very happy about our performance. We tried to play an open game but we had a few chances to score and we didn’t," Jelusic told SuperSport after the game.

“The result is not good for us, but as I said I’m satisfied with the commitment of our players,” he said after the game.

“Yes, we wanted to come closer and scored the goal but after that, we got a red card and the situation was no longer the same.

“It was much more difficult. Even with a player less, we tried to achieve a better result but unfortunately, we didn’t."

Gordinho was careles.. Gabuza was going to miss, only if he knew he would've let him go and miss on his own... infact he was going to chase that ball until it goes out for goal kick, that is Gabuza
