Despite earning a 2-2 draw against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night, Bloemfontein Celtic captain Bevan Fransman says his side were not good enough.
Fransman bemoaned his side’s poor defending which saw them concede a penalty goal and then a goal after a swift counter-attack from Pirates.
“We could have done better as a defensive unit because you shouldn’t concede two goals,” said Fransman.
“The first one, I don’t know what that was and the second one was a lack of concentration and they punished us.
“Other than that I think we dealt with their attack fairly well.
“The pressure came, especially in the final 30 minutes, but we dealt with it.”
Fransman added that his team have enjoyed their early season games and he is confident his team will do well this season, but only if they keep working hard.
“The preparations have been fantastic and the fitness levels are there,” added the defender.
“Everyone put in a good shift (against Pirates) and was working hard for the team.
“The potential and the signs are there that this squad can succeed, we just need to brush up the finer points.”
