Blackburn Pay Tribute To Benni

With tributes pouring in from former teammates of Benni McCarthy, it was nice to see his former club, Blackburn Rovers, willing to give the Siya crew a message for Benni on his retirement.

The club’s media officer presented the Siya crew with this message from the club:

“Benni was a very gifted and charismatic individual, who was well loved both on and off the field.

"Signed by Mark Hughes from Porto in the summer of 2006, he more than paid back his £2.5m fee in his first season at Ewood Park, scoring 24 goals, including a famous late winner against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

“On behalf of all the staff and supporters at the club, we thank him for some great memories in Blackburn’s blue and white shirt and we wish him well in the future.”
