Despite narrowly missing out on promotion to the PSL, Black Leopards boss, David Thidiela, believes instant success is possible in football despite the pressures faced.
Lidoda Duvha reached the promotion/relegation playoffs at the end of 2013/14 under the guidance of Kosta Papic, however Leopards were unable to win the promotion they were fighting for.
Nonetheless, despite this failure, Thidiela is convinced results can be achieved quickly in football if the right plan is in place. In addition, the experienced club owner had praise for Papic in nearly steering the club to instant promotion in the last campaign.
He told Soccer Laduma in edition 875, "Most of the youngsters Papic groomed were inexperienced U23s from the second division or SAB League. Yet the team soon showed promise by playing a great attacking kind of football. I've been in South African football a long time...to take these small boys and mould them in such a short time proves there is no need to wait three or four years to build a team."
Ironically, Thidiela won't have the services of Papic in 2014/15 as the Serbian has taken over the reigns of newly-promoted Chippa United. However, the club's relative success in the last campaign must have the Lidoda Duvha Chairman believing that promotion could be in the offing in the near future.
