Aces Sign Moyo & Adusei

Mpumalanga Black Aces have confirmed the signing of Zimbabwean midfielder, Peter Moyo and Ghana defender, Kwabena Adusei.

The Siya crew reported earlier that Moyo had agreed terms with Aces, in a deal believed to be worth R250 000 and now Aces have now confirmed in a statement posted on the club’s official website that they have concluded the signing of the Zimbabwean star, as well as that of the Hearts of Oak defender Adusei.

Aces have wasted no time in bolstering up their squad, and have signed two players who impressed at the recent CHAN tournament hosted in South Africa.

26-year-old Moyo has won 14 caps for Zimbabwe, and was one of the outstanding players for Ian Gorowa's squad at CHAN in January.

The midfielder started playing for Highlanders U19s in Zimbabwe 9 years ago and picked up the nickname 'Rio' because of playing a Brazilian-style of football.

However at 18 he decided to quit football and moved to South Africa where he worked as a carpenter, and during his spare time played social football.

In 2010, spurred on by friends, he decided to return to Zimbabwe and try play football professionally at age 22, playing first for Big 11, then winning promotion with Quelaton, before he re-joined Highlanders.

The decision to return to football paid off and four years later he returns to South Africa, to use his boots rather than tools.

Adusei, who made his debut for the Black Stars in 2012, narrowly missed out on making Kwesi Appiah's Ghana squad for the World Cup in Brazil. He was part of an initial 30 man selection, but wasn't selected for provisional squad.

The defender was part of the Ghana squads for 2013 WAFU Nations Cup and the CHAN tournament in January, where he scored two goals, but missed out playing in the final, won by Libya, when he was sent off in the semi-final against Nigeria.
