Mpumalanga Black Aces are reportedly keen on signing Wits hard-man, Letladi Madubanya.
According to a source close to the player, Aces coach, Clive Barker, is a fan of the hard-tackling Alexandra-born midfielder, and wants to bring him to the club.
Madubanya, however, told the Siya crew that he was not aware of Aces’ interest in him.
“All I know is that I’m contracted to Wits, and I’m their player until they say otherwise,” commented Madubanya.
Madubanya joined Wits in January after leaving AmaZulu in somewhat controversial circumstances, with rumours of a rift between him and Usuthu coach, Craig Rosslee emerging.
The 30-year-old former SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder was hoping to get some game time at Gavin Hunt’s team, but has found the going tough in that central midfield position, with Papy Faty and young Phumlani Ntshangase being the preferred choices.
This has raised speculation that Madubanya may leave the Students, and Aces have been mentioned as his possible destination.
