Billiat In Car Crash

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat was involved in a car accident, but it has been confirmed that the Zimbabwe midfielder is not seriously injured.

The Brazilians confirmed the news via their official wesbite, saying that the player's car veered off the road and hit a tree.

Dr Carl Tabane revealed that Billiat suffered minor bruises to his neck and chest, but should be back in action in no time. It is likely that the midfielder will miss the next league match against Free State Stars on Wednesday as he was given time off until Tuesday.

“We are glad to announce that Khama escaped the accident, which could have been worse considering that he avoided an oncoming car,” said Tabane, in the statement.

“Just as a precautionary measure the player has been given a few days off and will be further assessed when he returns to training on Tuesday.”

The Siya crew contacted Mamelodi Sundowns Communication co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa, who confirmed the story, and added that Billiat would be given a few days to recover from his minor injuries.

“Mamelodi Sundowns can confirm that Khama Billiat has been involved in a car accident and the car is written off. He avoided a head on collision and swerved off the road."

"He escaped with minor bruises on his shoulder and on his chest, so he wasn’t badly injured. As a precaution, he will be given a few days off to recover fully. He should be back in training on Tuesday.”
