A big contingent of PSL-based players are in the Zimbabwe squad to take on Bafana Bafana in tonight’s international friendly.
The Zim squad boasts some quality performers with the likes of Cuthbert Malajila, Khama Billiat (both Mamelodi Sundowns), Knowledge Musona, Kingston Nkhatha and Willard Katsande (all Kaizer Chiefs), arguably the top stars from amongst those selected locally.
Also in the Warriors squad are Washinton Arubi (University of Pretoria), Carlington Nyadombo (AmaZulu), Onismor Bhasera and Denver Mukamba (both Wits).
Former Moroka Swallows midfielder, Oscar Machapa, is also a part of the side to face Bafana this evening.
Despite the quality they do appear to have available, Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup after drawing their final Group G game against Mozambique.
Gordon Igesund's charges also failed to advance to Brazil, fuelling speculation about the long term future of the national team coach.
Nonetheless, the Warriors should still give Bafana a run for their money when the two teams meet tonight. The game takes place from 20h30 at Orlando Stadium.
Full Zimbabwe squad to face Bafana: Munyaradzi Diya, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Eric Chipeta, Patson Jaure, Danny Phiri, Masimba Keen Mambare, Cuthbert Malajila, Washington Arubi, Felix Chindungwe, Carlington Nyadombo, Oscar Machapa, Knowledge Musona, Kingston Nkhatha, Onismor Bhasera, Eusebio Manuwere, Khama Billiat, Denver Mukamba, Peter Moyo and Willard Katsande.
