Wits To Make Even More Money On Mahlambi

Bidvest Wits Will Make Even More Money On Phakamani Mahlambi

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 27, 2017 10:29 AM
Bidvest Wits already made tens of millions of rand on the back of selling Phakamani Mahlambi to Al Ahly, but they should make even more on him in the future.

The 20-year-old made a move believed to be worth over R20 million to Egypt earlier this month in one of the biggest transfers in South African history and hit the ground running when he scored a brace on his debut in a friendly against El Gouna.

However, as reported in last week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, that fee could potentially rise to around R30 million with the add-ons involved in the deal.

The crew has had it confirmed that there is a sell-on clause that will see the Egyptians pay an extra amount to Wits should the Bafana Bafana international be sold in the future.

While the exact percentage figure is not known at this stage, the crew has been informed that there is a minimum guaranteed amount that Wits will pocket if Mahlambi is sold, regardless of how much the next transfer fee is valued at.

Mahlambi hasn’t been able to make his competitive debut for Al Ahly due to their CAF Champions League commitments – he signed after the registration period – however, it is drawing closer for him as the tournament reaches the semi-finals.

@Vhivha Totally agree, Mhango should be banned from PSL. The PSL is toothless and they have done absolutely nothing since the incident. Im sure they will release a statement in May next year b4 the League closes. What a disgrace

@Here comes The Bastad now on point analysis there South African players don't know how to make quick killer passes to strikers hence we see too many offsides, our midfielders tend to make to many passes over the ball even a deadliest proven goal poacher can be a novice in our league just because of these useless so called playermakers who don't know that their primary job is to provide assist to strikers

It sometimes perplexes me that we as fans seem to see things that the technical team does not see and vice versa. For Instance, the reason Tendai Ndoro ended up scoring the goals he did was because the players who were supposed to have provided him with the right passes to score did not do that and only released the ball to him after the scoring chance had passed or when he was offside. This element of play is perpectuated by the likes of Matlaba, Makola to name just a few and it reared its ugly head when Foster debuted ...there was a time where had Matlaba released the ball in time Foster would have scored his debut goal. The point here is we can get the bestest of strikers but if the others players do not support him he will be useless.
