Bidvest Wits have commented on reports that the club’s sale to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila has been approved by the PSL.
There have been widespread reports based on a letter from the PSL's legal counsel Michael Murphy addressed to Wits CEO Alan Fainman and TTM owner Lawrence Mulaudzi confirming approval of the transaction between the two teams.
While Wits’ sale and subsequent relocation has been an open secret, the club has commented on reports of the deal.
“I can confirm that the club has not received any final confirmation, all communication has been taking place between the Chairman of Bidvest Wits and TTM,” Wits COO Jonathan Schloss explained to the Siya crew.
There has also been no official confirmation from the PSL about the transaction being finalised, although an announcement is expected in the coming days.
The Venda outfit, who currently campaign in the GladAfrica Championship - have outlined their plans to relocate the team to Limpopo, where they will use the Thohoyandou Stadium next season.
While they have also confirmed that they will not be holding onto Wits’ current high earners and coach Gavin Hunt.
