The Bloemfontein-born defender said he takes the game like any other and that there’s nothing different in playing against his former side. Mkhwanazi said their win against SuperSport united last Saturday is a motivation, but they’re now focusing on this evening's match.
Brizzo, as he’s affectionately known, said they’re looking at collecting the three points and are aware that Tuks lost their previous match to Polokwane City which will make the game an interesting clash for the rival universities.
“Everything is going well at my new club, playing my former team for the first time is something I’m looking forward to. I take the game as a normal encounter. Yes, there are emotions involved but it’s just any game to me. We aim to do well, collect the three points and we’ve already put our SuperSport United win behind us.
“I welcome the Tuks clash and I’m looking forward to it. At the end of the day, it’s not about me, it’s a team effort. This is the game which we see as important hence we play at home,” said Mkhwanazi.
Mkhwanazi spent the last PSL season at the Tshwane-based club and joined The Students during the current transfer window.
