AmaZulu are set to bolster their striking force with the addition of Makhosonke Bhengu to the squad. Soccer-Laduma has learnt that Bhengu has landed in Durban for a trial with Usuthu.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Sun Hei in the Hong Kong First Division. The former Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic player is hoping for a return to the PSL after spending the past three years in Hong Kong.
Bhengu enjoyed his football during his stay in Hong Kong, while playing for Fourway Rangers and Sun Hei. A source close to the latest developments at AmaZulu told the Siya crew that the player is expected to sign with the team.
“Makhosonke Bhengu is training with AmaZulu. He has been in the country for a few days now. He has returned from Hong Kong, where he has been playing his football. The AmaZulu coach is looking at him and will make a decision. But the player has been impressive at training and in the friendly game he played for the team. He is set to sign with the team,” said the source.
AmaZulu have already signed Njabulo Manqana, Luyanda Hlongwa, Phumlani Mhamha and Willem Mwedihanga during the January transfer window.
