Phumelele Bhengu is enjoying his football at Thanda Royal Zulu, after his disappointing spell with Chippa United due to lack of game time last season.
The former SA U23 international, who can play either as a defender or a striker, has been influential for Amabhubesi during the team’s impressive run in the NFD in the second round of the season.
Bhengu told the Siya crew that he is comfortable with any role the coach wants him to play in the team.
“I am getting game time here big time. I have been playing regularly since arriving at the club. I am playing as a right-back in some of the games because of the under-23 rule. Depending in the situation on the day, I sometimes change from defence to play as a striker. I played at right-back in the game against Pirates and I am enjoying the role. Our aim is to help the team to stay in the Mvela League (National First Division) this season. The coach is sometimes pushing me up front and I still do the job as a striker,” said Bhengu.
Bhengu scored the goal that helped the Richards Bay outfit in the 1-0 win over FC Cape Town last weekend.
