Best & Worst: Polokwane v Pirates

Best & Worst: Polokwane v Pirates

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 30, 2017 11:28 PM

Soccer Laduma selects the six best and four worst performers, following Orlando Pirates' 2-2 draw with Polokwane City.

Best:

Thamsanqa Gabuza: 8/10

Gabuza squandered a couple chance in the first half, but scored two goals in the second, including an equaliser in stoppage to earn his side a point on the road.

Rodney Ramagalela: 7.5/10

Ramagalela had a stellar game. He scored one goal and assisted another for Rise and Shine.

Rendani Ndou: 7/10

Ndou was impressive upfront. He was well worth the goal against the run of play.

Abbubaker Mobara: 6.5/10

Mobara is the unsung hero in the Bucs midfield. He played with a lot of intensity and heart from start to finish.  Although he did lose the ball in the build-up to Polokwane's second goal

Thembinkosi Lorch: 6.5/10

Lorch was brilliant in attack. He gave Bucs a lot of variation going forward and he was unselfish to setup Gabuza for the opening goal.

Mpho Makola: 6.5/10

Makola was involved in a lot of Pirates' attacks in the first half, but he squandered a good chance as well.

Worst:

Walter Maponyane: 4/10

Maponyane was exposed at left-back on many occasions, with Lorch and Thabo Qalinge beating him for pace.

Puleng Tlolane: 5/10

Tlolane was anonymous on the night, which is uncharacteristic of him.

Innocent Maela: 5/10

The Bucs left back had a quite game in Polokwane. He was also kept back from bombing forward and making those telling crosses.

Musa Nyatama: 5/10

Nyatama was slow off the blocks. His only notable contribution in the game was his long looping ball towards the goals that saw Gabuza equalise.

Gabuza humbled me yesterday.. he missed a couple of chances but he was our best performer, producing marvelous runs towards the box.. I'm always against his selection in starting xi but yesterday I sat down and kept my mouth shut, especially in the second half

It's about time that OP unleashed Yusuf Maart to play at number 8. Musa Nyatama huffs and puffs but fails to blow the opposition away. The same can be said about Qalinga.

Slowly but surely we'll get there. Combinations are not accomplished overnight. Well done to Gandaganda your work ethic augurs well for modern soccer one of the good days you'll score 3 or 4 goals in one game.

I will clap for the boys, wonderful job and we are behind u. To pin point fingers can't help that was away match and u didn't come back empty handed. To those who did some mistakes go back and coach will rectify your mistakes. On my side u play concerning to plan because that was not an easy game as Rise n Shine stand on a drop zone..........Up the Bucks.
