Best

Khama Billiat: 8/10

Billiat was a constant threat in attack with his pace and skill. He scored Sundowns’ first goal and was involved in the build-up to their second goal. He also struck the crossbar late in the game.

Yannick Zakri: 8/10

Zakri was dangerous down the right flank where he created numerous problems for the Pirates defence. It was his cross in the first half that led to Sundowns’ first goal. He also found the back of the net for Sundowns’ second goal.

Themba Zwane: 7/10

Zwane was very influential in the middle of the park and made things tick in attack. His passing was very good and he did not let the Pirates defence rest with his quick counter-attacking football.

Mzikayise Mashaba: 7/10

Mashaba was very useful both in defence and attack in his midfield role. He worked hard down the flank when needed and also cut inside to create danger in attack.

Thabo Nthethe: 7/10

Nthethe was solid in the heart of the Sundowns defence. He read the game well and often broke up Pirates attack with his no nonsense tackling.

Dennis Onyango: 7/10

Onyango was brilliant in gola for Sundowns. He made numerous good saves and also marshalled his defence well.

Worst

Issa Sarr: 4/10

Sarr was poor in his defensive role and gave the ball away cheaply. It was his sloppy play that led to Sundowns’ first goal when the ball was stolen from him in midfield.

Ayanda Gcaba: 5/10

Gcaba was not at his best in the heart of defence and struggled to stop the Sundowns attack. It was his mistake in defence that led to Sundowns’ second goal.

Thabo Qalinge: 5/10

Qalinge struggled in his attacking position. He struggled to get past the Sundowns’ defence and he gave the ball away cheaply with poor passing and bad control.

Happy Jele: 5/10

Jele was not his usual self in his right-wing back position. He did not get forward as much as normal and was also poor in defence. He also gave the ball away a lot with some poor long range passing.
