Jantjie provided a real attacking threat for Stars throughout the match. He played a big role in Stars' first goal and also scored the winner.

Badra Sangare: 6.5/10

The shot-stopper did well help to Stars claim victory as he produced a couple important saves.

Thabiso Kutumela: 6.5/10

Kutumela impressed on the night for the Buccaneers. He linked up with Shonga in the first half, while he also got on the score-sheet with a composed finish.

Justin Shonga: 6.5/10

Looked lively in the opening half upfront and also provided an assist for Kutumela's goal.

Tamsanqa Teyise: 6.5/10

The defender did well in the heart of the Stars defence and put in a few timely tackles.

Siphelele Mthembu: 6/10

Mthembu did not get on the score-sheet but he was a handful for the Pirates on a few occasions.

Worst:

Jackson Mabokgwane: 4.5/10

Was helpless for the first goal, but he was at fault for Stars' winning goal and cost Pirates a point.

Justice Chabalala: 4.5/10

The communication in the Pirates defence was not great as Stars managed to cut through the back four on a couple occasions.

Abbubaker Mobara: 4.5/10

Mobara did not have the best of games. He scored an own goal and was out of position when Jantjie scored the winning goal.

Mpho Makola: 4.5/10

Makola may have played a part in the equaliser, but his overall effect on the game going forward was very little.

Shonga had a great game yesterday and I wish the coach did not substitute him. Gabuza's introduction was our downfall, he offered less than we needed. I believe that with him at the front line we will score goals.

The is with the management that can not replace departed strikers, some of the strikers we unnecessary released were better than the current crop, we released Mbesuma, Bacela, Erasmus, Ndoro & Majoro, all of them were and are still better than Gabuza

Pirates is still clueless even this season, the problem now is coach and the striker. Khoza must buy James Keene or Evans Rusike
