Best & Worst: Chiefs v Arrows

By SL International - Sep 23, 2017 11:30 PM
Soccer Laduma selects the six best and four worst players, following Kaizer Chiefs' 0-0 draw with Golden Arrows.

Best:

Willard Katsande: 6.5/10

The Zimbabwean midfielder put in a real solid shift in the middle of the park, as he did well to protect the back four.

Siphiwe Tshabalala: 7/10

Tshabalala created numerous openings for Amakhosi in the pockets of space upfront. He was a constant threat throughout.

Itumeleng Khune: 6.5/10

The Amakhosi goalkeeper had a quiet opening 45 minutes, but he was impressive in the second half as he made two late saves to ensure his side kept a clean sheet.

Siyabonga Dube: 7/10

The Arrows centre-back was solid. He is the main reason why Abafana Bes'thende did not concede. He marshalled the backline really well.

Hendrick Ekstein: 6/10

Pule had an impressive game on his return to the line-up, although he excelled in patches. His first touch and the eye for a pass were good.

Gustavo Paez: 6.5/10

Paez ran his socks off in the match. He was one of the hard-working players on the pitch, a big positive playing as a striker., but he missed a good chance in the first half.

Worst:

Zolani Nkombelo: 4/10

The Arrows defender was late on tackles and committed too many fouls.

Siphelele Magubane: 4/10

Magubane was tightly marked upfront and hardly threatened in the final third.

Kgotso Malope: 5/10

The youngster didn't have a bad game, but he did five away possession at times.

Bongolethu Jayiya: 5/10

The former Cape Town City man had a quiet game on the left flank. He was replaced at the start of the second half.

Why Kaizerchiefs let Doc go?. The difference between Kompela and Doc is that Doc's team is on position 2 while Kompela's team is on 4 position.
