Mario Booysen: 7/10

He was solid at the back for Ajax and shut-down numerous Pirates attacks with his reading of the game and no nonsense tackling.

Mosa Lebusa: 7/10

He was solid in his left-back role and also got forward down to the flank to assist in attack. He also scored his side’s opening goal with a solid header at a corner-kick. Unfortunately, Lebusa had to leave the field injured at the end of the first half.

Tendai Ndoro: 7/10

The Ajax attacker used his pace and skill to give the Pirates defence numerous problems. He was a constant threat on the counter-attack and also created his side’s second goal with a well-place cross.

Yannick Zakri: 8/10

The Ajax attacker caused headaches for the Pirates defence with his strength on the ball and his off-the-ball runs. He showed good strength and speed to get ahead of his marker to score his side’s second goal when he poked home a Ndoro cross. He also grabbed his side’s third goal with a neat finish to seal victory.

Roscoe Pietersen: 7/10

The Ajax centre back was superb in defence, especially in the second half as the Pirates attack laid siege on his side’s goal. However, he was a wall in front of his goalkeeper and made numerous tackles and important interceptions.

Luvuyo Memela: 7/10

He was one of Pirates’ best players in the middle of the park where he used his speed and skill to give the Ajax defence problems. His creativity also saw him creating scoring chances for his teammates.

Mpho Makola: 5/10

Makola was poor in the middle of the park for Pirates and gave the ball away in cheaply with some poor passing. The coach made the decision to substitute him in the 36th minute of the match as he had no impact on the game.

Innocent Maela: 5/10

The Pirates defender struggled at the back, especially at set-piece time where he was beaten in the air time and again. He was at fault for the second goal his side conceded as he let Ndoro get past him down the right flank. He also missed a golden chance to pull a goal back for his side early in the second half when he shot over from a couple of yards out.

Lorch: 5/10

The Pirates attacker was poor upfront. His decision making in the final third was bad as was his shooting at goal. He offered very little in attack

Tashreeq Morris: 5/10

He struggled in the middle of the park and provided nothing beneficial to the Ajax team. Muhsin Ertugral made the decision to substitute him on the half hour mark.
