Sage Stephens: 7/10
He was solid between the sticks and organised his defence well. He also made numerous good saves to keep Sundowns at bay.
Thamsanqa Mkhize: 7/10
He was solid defensively in his right-back role. He also looked solid when attacking down the right flank, causing problems for the Sundowns defence.
Edmilson Dove: 7/10
He was solid defensively in his left-back role. He kept the Sundowns wingers at bay with his no-nonsense tackling. He also got forward in attack and provided some decent balls into the box.
Aubrey Ngoma: 7/10
He was a constant threat in attack for Cape Town City using his speed and skill to get behind the Sundowns defence. He created the first goal for Cape Town City, but unfortunately was substituted at half time due to injury.
Robyn Johannes: 7/10
The Cape Town City captain was solid in his centre back role. He constantly broke up the Sundowns attack with his reading of the game and accurate tackling.
Percy Tau: 7/10
He was a shining light in what was a poor Sundowns team performance. He kept the Cape Town City defence on their toes with his speed and movement off the ball. He also created some decent scoring chances for his teammates.
Siyanda Zwane: 5/10
He struggled defensively and got caught out a couple of times on the counter-attack. He also struggled to add numbers in attack and failed to get down the flank.
Tiyani Mabunda: 5/10
The central midfielder was not his usual creative self in midfield. He struggled to get into the game and his passing was not at its best.
Thokozani Sekotlong: 5/10
He struggled to get into the game and was not a real threat in attack for Sundowns. He was wasteful on the ball and gave away possession cheaply. He was substituted in the second half.
Themba Zwane: 5/10
He did not threaten in attack for Sundowns and his decision making was poor in the final third. When he did get chances on goal, his shooting was poor.
